Shawn Parr has been beloved in country music circles for many years and has also been the voice of Dick Clark Productions for the past 15 years. His voiceover for television and radio includes announcing for The American Music Awards, Golden Globes, Academy of Country Music Awards to name a few. Shawn was a former KZLA announcer for Morning Drive/Afternoon Drive and it's great to have him here at Go Country 105.
Tonya started her radio career at the age of 14 at a small AM station in Visalia, California. Within five years she was the evening host at KFYE-FM (Y-94) in Fresno. She followed that with jobs at KBOS/Fresno, KSDO-FM (KS103) / San Diego. She came to Los Angeles in 1987 and worked for the Transtar Radio Network. After four years with CBS and a couple at Unistar Radio Network, she landed the mid-day shift at KZLA in 1994. In 2000, she was promoted to music director and in 2002 added the title of assistant program director. After KZLA changed their format in 2006, Tonya worked for Lofton Creek Records before coming to Go Country 105.
Paul Freeman began his illustrious career in broadcasting as a teenager in the basement of his parent's Spokane, Washington home in his state of the art studio/radio station that he built. Was his destiny radio? You better believe it! Paul landed his first on the air job while still a junior in high school and the rest is history. Paul continued to work on the air while finishing high school and starting college. His journey via the airways landed him on some of the top radio stations in Los Angeles including 13 years at KIIS FM which was number one with the highest ratings in it's history. Paul has also spent time at KHJ, KODJ-FM, KCBS-FM, KYSR- FM, KBIG-FM, and most recently COUNTRY 93.9 KZLA FM.
Zack got his start in radio as a high school reporter for WNUE in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, then made the big jump to the nearby metropolis of Niceville where he became the night jock. He worked his way though college at the University of Mississippi with stints at WSUH and WMS, and then it was on to California with stops at KAVS in Lancaster, KKXX in Bakersfield, KIBB in L.A. and the nationally syndicated Westwood One and Dial-Global radio networks. Zack is an avid racquetballer, loves to travel and speaks 5 languages, although he is not particularly fluent in any of them (including English.)
Whitney Allen knew she wanted to be in radio when she was 5 years old. Whitney began her radio career KATA in Eureka, followed by stints in San Diego at KS-103, Country's Q105 and KKLQ, Q-106. Her move to Los Angeles included jobs at Pirate Radio, KIIS-FM, After Midnite and KZLA. Whitney won Country Radio Personality of the Year at the Radio Music Awards in December 2005.
Melody Morgan brings 25 years of programming, promotion, production and on-air work to Go Country 105 including 13 years as a listener and affiliate favorite on-air on Dial Global's Mainstream Country format. Her previous experience includes, Los Angeles, San Diego, Santa Rosa, CA; Reno NV and Ventura, CA.
Jimmy Kay, grew up in the San Fernando Valley in Tarzana, California. In the middle of Jimmy's senior year at Taft High School he moved to the small town of Gainseville, Georgia where he attended Riverside Military Academy. It was there in North Georgia in the seventies, where Jimmy developed his deep appreciation for Classic Country, Bluegrass & Americana music. Prior to joining Go Country, Jimmy and his producer Jeffry Smart hosted Sunday Night Folk for five years beginning on KRLA from April 2002--July 2005 and then on KKGO AM from August 2005 - March 2007.
Nora Wells
Nora always knew that she hated math, and so, her career in radio began! Nora's first gig was with Metro Traffic in Little Rock, Arkansas at radio stations KKPT, KABZ and KOLL. She also did TV traffic for the market's top rated Channel 7 affiliate KATV. Everything was going great until someone finally realized there wasn't enough traffic to report in Arkansas. Being the resourceful country girl, she moved to LA where there will never be a shortage! J-O-B-S-E-C-U-R-I-T-Y. Nora is a 10 year veteran theater actor and she does local, regional and national voice overs.
Bob Allen
Bob began his 30+ year radio career right out of high school in his hometown of Fresno at KMAK and served a tour of duty at various other Central California stations. He's called Southern California home since 1985 and has worked at KIK-FM, KFRG, KCKC, as well as Dial-Global's nationally syndicated country formats. Bob also has the VERY unique distinction of having worked on KKGO when it was a jazz station over 20 years ago!!! He's been a professional drummer as well since he was 15 and loves to jam with friends whenever he has a chance.
