Statement of Supplemental EEO Outreach Activities:

1.  KMZT/KKGO maintains an intern program designed to assist members of the community to acquire skills needed for broadcast employment.   The program allows interns to gain on-hand experience in various aspects of broadcast operations so that they may develop their skills for future broadcast employment.  The interns are afforded the opportunity to work in many departments with experienced station personnel so as to gain a broad overview of the nature of the stations’ varied operations.  During the period of August 1, 2005 - July 31, 2006 this company has many Interns participating in the program.  All of the university students participating in our intern program are in various stages of college studies.

2.  KMZT/KKGO contributes to the California Community Foundation.  The scholarship program is designed to assist students who are interested in pursuing careers in broadcasting.  KMZT/KKGO personnel were involved from its inception including its organization, assessments, vesting, voting on scholarship recipients, and helping to determine the form of outreach to be used each year.

3.  KMZT/KKGO participated in job/career fairs to promote employment in the broadcast field.  Station personnel with substantial responsibility in making hiring decisions attend these job fairs.  All job fairs are attended by two station representatives, the Business Manager and the Website Manager/Programming Liaison Manager.

* On October 20, 2006 KMZT/KKGO representatives attended the 9th Annual Career Day Reception presented by the Los Angeles Advertising Agencies Association, Ad Club of Los Angeles and Minority Advertising Training (ACLA/LAAAA/MAT) at the Los Angeles Convention Center which gives 500 college juniors and seniors the opportunity to experience the diverse careers that are available to them in advertising as well as donating items used by the attendees.

* On October 12, 2006 KMZT/KKGO representatives attended the Public Service Media Workshop at The Sportsmen’s Lodge in Studio City, California.

* On November 16, 2006 KMZT/KKGO representatives attended the Fall 2006 Inernship Job Fair presented by the Career Services Department at The Art Institute of California - Los Angeles.

*On March 1, 2007 KMZT/KKGO representatives attended the Job Fair presented by the Career Services Department of The Art Institute of California - Los Angeles.

4.  KMZT/KKGO participated in events sponsored by organizations representing groups in the community interested in broadcasting employment matters.

* On August 7, 2006 KMZT/KKGO participated in an EEO training seminar held in Los Angeles, California sponsored by the California Broadcasters Association. KMZT/KKGO was represented by its attendees Kane Biscaya and Denise Maynard, both of whom are managers.

* On April 20, 2007 KMZT/KKGO participated in EEO seminar hosted by the California Broadcasters Association in Universal City, California which was attended by Denise Maynard, a manager for KMZT/KKGO.

* On April 20, 2007 KMZT/KKGO participated in a Sexual Harassment seminar held in Universal City, California which was attended by Kane Biscaya and Denise Maynard, both of whom are managers for KMZT/KKGO.

5.  EEO radio spots:

*  In 2006 and 2007 KMZT/KKGO aired EEO radio spots.

* In 2007 KMZT/KKGO aired EEO radio spots for the Los Angeles Unified Teacher Job Fair.

6.  On September 20, 9006 KMZT/KKGO hosted an EEO Workshop for Managers at the offices of Mt. Wilson FM Broadcasters conducted by the President of the Southern California Broadcasters Association, Mary Beth Garber.  All managers were in attendance.

7.  KMZT/KKGO conducts monthly meetings with its management personnel specifically focused on EEO and more specifically, prevention of discrimination in the workplace.  Topics include EEO compliance, implementation of company EEO policies, outreach activities and other EEO-related issues.
